Why Use Netherlands Study Abroad Consultants?

The Dutch process is different from most countries, because your university applies for your visa and residence permit. These are the areas where Sri Lankan students most often need help from experienced Netherlands study consultants.

Competitive admissions

Popular programmes have early deadlines and limited places. A strong application and motivation letter make a real difference.

Proof of funds

You must show enough money for 12 months of living costs, usually by paying it to your university, plus your tuition fees.

University led visa process

Only your university can apply to the IND for you. Missing documents or late payments can delay your MVV.

Housing shortage

Student housing is scarce in many Dutch cities. Starting your search early is essential.

Proof of Funds for a Netherlands Student Visa

Netherlands Embassy in Sri Lanka

Many students search for the Dutch embassy in Sri Lanka. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is in Colombo. For study, you do not apply at the embassy yourself. Your university applies to the IND, and after approval you collect your MVV entry visa as instructed.

We explain every step so you arrive at your appointment with the right documents.

Netherlands Student Visa Success Rate

The IND does not publish a success rate for Sri Lankan students. Because your university acts as your sponsor and checks your file first, well prepared applications are usually approved. Problems come from:

  • Funds that are not paid or proven on time
  • Late applications close to the start of term
  • Missing or unsigned IND declarations
  • Documents that do not match your passport

Work While Studying

  • Up to 16 hours a week during your studies
  • Or full time work in June, July and August
  • Your employer must obtain a work permit from the UWV
  • Mandatory internships in your programme are allowed

Orientation Year After Graduation

Graduates can apply for a residence permit for an orientation year within 3 years of graduating. It lets you look for work or start a business for 1 year, and employers do not need a separate work permit for you. Graduates can then move to a highly skilled migrant permit at a lower salary requirement.
